In the winter of 1881, Albert Bacon Blanton was born into one of the first families of bourbon history. At the age of sixteen, he started work in the Distillery as an office boy and fast became a leading pioneer in the development of bourbon. From the time he was made company president in 1921 until his retirement in 1952, his Distillery expanded from 44 to 144 buildings to become the largest Distillery of its day. During that period Colonel Blanton created his very special and limited supply of bourbon – his private reserve – handpicked and stored in what now is known as the famous Warehouse H. Although Colonel Blanton died in the spring of 1959, his legacy lives. Introduced in 1984, Blantons namesake bourbon was the first ever Single Barrel Bourbon sold commercially. The Single Barrel Bourbon is the first of its kind.

Not only one of the worlds best bourbons, Blantons Straight from the Barrel is one of the worlds best whiskeys. Created for connoisseurs familiar with cask strength whiskeys, this enormous taste profile reaches depths of flavor found only in the rarest of spirits. On the nose we get notes of dark chocolate, caramel and butter with earthy undertones of walnut and hazelnut. The palate delivers intrepid notes of warm vanilla, oak, toasted nuts and a rich spiciness with hints of butterscotch or honey. The high alcohol by volume is intense and powerful yet inviting. The deep and resonate finish on this bourbon is nothing short of legendary. Straight from the barrel is best served neat or with a splash of water. Un-filtered, un-cut, unbelievable.

Blanton’s Black Labelis rich and smooth with a clean finish. This bourbon is crafted with Mash Bill #2, a sour mash of corn, malted barley, and extra Rye. It is matured in American White Oak casks. The nose on this one is very mellow, with prominent earthy notes mingled with herbaceous hints of pine, layered with dominant notes of juniper, cherries, apples, blueberries, rich vanilla, and honey. The palate is full and rich with bold herbaceous pine notes alongside butter, honey, pepper, and chocolate. The finish is long, with lingering hints of white oak and toffee on the back end.
